On the afternoon of March 30, 2016, in Room 402, Teaching Builidng B of North China Electric Power University, GTC Tech Language Localization Lecturer Team members Han Kai and Li Yun shared their experience in engineering translation project management with some first-year graduates of North China Electric Power University MTI.

Mr. Han Kai, English Project Manager of the Localization and Document Control Department in GTC Tech, is mainly responsible for international engineering translation projects, with rich experience in engineering translation project management. Focusing on Engineering Translation Project Management Practice, Mr. Han firstly introduced the type of engineering projects, and then analyzed cases using PMP-based theories of “three cores”, “four scopes”, “five procedures” and “seven steps”. During the lecture, he encouraged the students to think through Q&A, and guided them to practice the process of project management, creating a very vivid atmosphere. For the students, project management was something unfamiliar yet interesting. When hearing about key points, they would ask about the details and practical applications, and when asked questions regarding knowledge taught by previous professors, they could quickly give correct answers. After the lecture, Mr. Han exchanged contact information with the students and created a WeChat group. Mr. Han also introduced GTC Tech’s representative products like YeeCloud and YeeKit, which inspired great interest of the students.

Li Yun, Portugese Project Manager of the Localization and Document Control Department in GTC Tech. With unique experience of working abroad, she gave a lecture titled Foreign Engineering Translation Project Management Practice to the students. Ms. Li shared her interesting experiences abroad, and introduced some important matters in the interpretation of engineering projects, which aroused the interest of the students. Ms. Li also arranged the student to simulate scenarios of working abroad, and guided them to develop solutions to problems, greatly arousing the enthusiasm of the students.

Thanks to the careful preparation of the two lecturers and the active response from the students, the four-hour lectures ended successfully.
